Sous Chef / Kitchen Assistant
Job Responsibilities
Support the Private Chef with prep, mise en place, cooking, plating, and kitchen resets. Assist with shopping, purveyor coordination, labeling, and inventory rotation. Maintain sanitation logs, equipment care, and deep-clean schedules. Execute staff meals and simple menus independently as needed. Provide flexible support during events and high-guest-count days.
Qualifications & Requirements
2–4+ years in professional kitchens; private household experience a plus. Knife skills, prep speed, and consistency; familiarity with multiple cuisines. Understanding of HACCP, allergen awareness, and safe food storage. Organized, teachable, and collaborative; positive, low-ego demeanor. Willingness to work evenings/weekends during season.
