Job Responsibilities
The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the housekeeping department to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and service are consistently maintained. This includes supervising, training, and scheduling housekeeping staff, as well as conducting performance evaluations to promote a productive work environment. The role involves managing daily cleaning operations, ensuring all rooms and common areas are maintained to an exceptional standard, and conducting regular inspections to uphold quality control. The Executive Housekeeper also monitors and replenishes inventory, places supply orders as needed, and ensures the safe and appropriate use of cleaning products and equipment. Coordination with other departments, such as maintenance and administration, is essential to ensure seamless household or facility operations. Additionally, the Executive Housekeeper assists with budgeting and cost control, maintains detailed cleaning protocols, enforces safety and hygiene policies, and ensures the confidentiality and privacy of residents or guests. Exceptional attention to detail, professionalism, and a service-oriented approach are key to success in this role.
Qualifications & Requirements
The ideal candidate for the Executive Housekeeper position should have a high school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in hospitality management or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 3–5 years of professional housekeeping experience, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or managerial role, is required. Strong leadership and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to manage a team effectively and maintain high cleanliness standards. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, as well as strong attention to detail and time management. Proficiency in scheduling, inventory control, and the use of housekeeping equipment and cleaning agents is necessary. Familiarity with health, safety, and sanitation regulations is required, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion, especially in private or high-profile settings, is a must. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed, and the physical ability to perform housekeeping tasks when necessary, are also important qualifications.
